Before joining TAG, Mark Smith gained 38 years of experience in the food industry in food safety, quality assurance, and sanitation. He developed strong technical and business expertise through roles with a specialty chemical supplier and in senior leadership positions within the food manufacturing industry.
Mark communicates and works effectively with employees at every level inside food manufacturing, from sanitation and production employees to plant management and senior executives. He began his career with Klenzade, now the Food & Beverage Division of Ecolab, before moving into the cooked egg products manufacturing industry.
Mark earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Grove City College and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He is certified in HACCP and as an SQF Practitioner as well as PCQI and Food Defense. He also previously held a State of Georgia Wastewater Operator Class 3 license.
Mark lives in metro Atlanta, Georgia. In his free time, he enjoys learning, serving others, staying active, sports, and spending time with his wife and three children.
