Rich Simmons has 40+ years of experience in the food industry, specializing in GFSI food safety management system standards having completed over 400 SQF audits and 100 BRC audits in his career. Rich has held positions of Certification Manager and Technical Operations Manager at NSF International, responsible for the certification body management of FSSC, IFS, BRC and SQF standards and technical review processes of all GFSI standards. He has experience working and consulting in meat, dairy, seafood, bakery, brewing and fruit & vegetable food industry sectors.
Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University Guelph in Ontario Canada and formerly an Honorary Research Associate with the Acadia University School of Nutrition & Food Science.
Rich is an Approved Training Provider (ATP) for the BRC Food Standard and Qualified Lead Auditor for SQF, BRC, FSSC and IFS Logistics.
In his off time, Rich enjoys daily workouts, playing the guitar and landscaping the four acres around his home.
