SUMMARY:Webinar: Preparing for the FDA's Enforcement of the Intentional Adulteration Rule
DESCRIPTION:Enforcement of the FDA’s Intentional Adulteration (IA) Rule is anticipated to begin by late summer or early fall. This includes all human FDA regulated foods\, including those facilities that follow existing FDA regulations normally outside the realm of FSMA such as manufacturers of Acidified Foods\, Bottled Water\, Dietary Supplements\, Farms that produce Milk\, Infant Formula\, Juice HACCP\, LACFs and Seafood HACCP. \nDesigned to identify those significant steps\, points\, or procedures and reduce the risk of wide-scale public health harm\, i.e.\, mass casualties\, resulting from intentionally adulterated human foods at the manufacturing level\, enforcement of this rule WILL be different from other FDA regulations. \nJoin TAG’s Director of Food Safety\, Christopher Snabes\, a leading instructor of the IA rule\, who will explain the purpose\, intent\, and unique enforcement of the IA Rule. You will learn the relationship between food safety and food defense requirements – including what could result in a Form 483a – and how the IA Rule expands across the supply chain\, both domestically and abroad. \nLearn essential tips to help you prepare ahead of a FSMA Food Defense audit\, what the FDA expects a facility to have in a written food defense plan\, and how to train your teams to identify Actionable Process Steps (APS) and proactively mitigate risks\, including required management components. \nRegister here

SUMMARY:Fate or FSMA 204? You are likely NOT prepared
DESCRIPTION:How many Critical Tracking Events (CTEs) are part of your food supply chain? And\, just how many Key Data Elements (KDEs) will you be responsible for? For restaurant and QSR operators\, those are two very important pieces of the FSMA 204 food traceability puzzle. All that slicing\, dicing and movement of Food Traceability List foods like Romaine lettuce\, tomatoes\, seafood and even mozzarella cheese could add up to 1 million KDEs or more every year. \nBut in order to see the full picture\, you’ve got to consider this missing piece: error rates. \nYour job now is to determine how you’re going to handle all that data and who is going to handle any mismatched or missing data in all of those transmissions. Join TAG’s Executive Vice President of Regulatory and Scientific Affairs\, Dr. Ben Miller\, as he discusses the FSMA 204 regulation and what to do now. \nRegister here

SUMMARY:Restaurants: why isn't FSMA 204 a food safety issue?
DESCRIPTION:Is the FDA FSMA 204 food traceability regulation a food safety or a supply chain problem? \nWhile accountability might fall on your food safety team\, the real work for FSMA 204 compliance needs to happen cross-functionally throughout your organization. The regulation is complicated\, and the consequences are real. But every department – from sales and merchandising to operations and IT – will have a different reason to care and a different purpose for becoming involved. \nDoes that mean every restaurant operator in the U.S. needs to hire a Head of Traceability? SUMMARY:Grocers & wholesalers: Why you might be thinking of FSMA 204 all wrong
DESCRIPTION:As a grocery retailer\, you represent an important part of the food supply chain: the end. But when it comes to recalls and inquiries\, the FDA is calling you first. \nUnder the FDA’s updated FSMA 204 food traceability regulation\, retailers are required to collect and maintain a tremendous amount of data to help the FDA track the path of a product back to its origins. What’s more? The law requires you to be able to send that data in a sortable file to the FDA within 24 hours of a request. The consequences will be real\, and many of your peers have already gotten started. Join TAG’s Executive Vice President of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs\, Dr. Ben Miller\, to learn what’s required and how you can fast-track preparedness before the FDA’s enforcement deadline. \nRegister here

SUMMARY:Grocery retailers & wholesalers: Here's what the FDA says you need to know NOW
DESCRIPTION:Grocery retailers\, your list of suppliers probably numbers in the hundreds – or maybe even thousands. Thanks to FDA’s new FSMA 204 requirement\, you’re now required to take in traceability data from all of them for each shipment of everyday items like tomatoes\, fresh greens and herbs\, deli salads\, shrimp and mollusks\, and even nut butters. Will you have to hire more store-level receivers to check in the data when they’re checking in orders? Are your systems ready to take in traceability data in hundreds (or thousands) of different formats?\n\nJoin TAG’s Executive Vice President of Regulatory and Scientific Affairs\, Dr. Ben Miller\, as he untangles the web of FSMA 204 data requirements for grocery retailers.\n\nRegister here

SUMMARY:Expect the Unexpected: Failure to Anticipate Threats is a Critical Food Safety Risk
DESCRIPTION:The risk is real: shutdowns of meat packing plants and oil pipelines due to ransomware attacks; fake organic grains due to fraud; systemic network outages due to maintenance failures; attacks on power grids—the failure to anticipate risk and plan risk mitigation strategies may be the biggest food safety issue companies face. Failure to anticipate what targeted threats and unthinkable breaches could happen can be a costly misstep for the food industry. \nTAG’s Chief Scientific Officer\, Rolando Gonzalez\, will join others on a panel at IFT in Chicago\, IL to discuss what tough questions your organization needs to be asking and what type of investments need to be made now\, along with strategies and next steps to imagine the unimaginable. \nLearn more here.
